Tropical fruits from Huerta de Pancha

Contrary to what is commonly known as tropical fruit, tropical fruits are not exotic fruits. Tropical fruits are, by definition, a type of fruit grown in tropical or subtropical climate zones.

The Huerta de Pancha is located in the Axarquia region of Malaga. The climate of this area is not purely Mediterranean, but is considered a semi-tropical climate. It is a unique climate in Spain, making it the only area on the peninsula where tropical fruits can be grown naturally.

But what is the climate like in this area to make the cultivation of tropical fruits possible? In this case, the average annual temperature in La Axarquía is around 25 degrees Celsius. Temperatures are around this figure throughout the year. We are in an area where the winters are very mild, and this greatly facilitates the process of planting tropical fruits, as there are no frosts, so they can grow during the winter without the plant deteriorating as a result.

Organic cultivation of tropical fruits

One of the strong points of the cultivation of tropical fruits in the Huerta de Pancha is that they are grown organically. In other words, all our fruits are grown without the use of fertilisers, pesticides or chemical additives; to compensate for this, we always use natural fertilisers and we take care of our plantations to avoid the reproduction of pests.

At Huerta de Pancha we are committed to organic farming. For this reason, all our fruit and vegetables are planted using totally natural processes.

Flavour, the most important ingredient

In order to eat tasty tropical fruits, which have not undergone artificial cultivation processes and which have been harvested in season, it is important that they are grown in the tropical climate that gives them their name.

The climate of the Axarquia is defined as tropical because its temperatures are warm in winter and mild in summer; that is to say, it is not a climate that stands out for having very high and very low temperatures, so the fruits will not suffer any damage during their growth.

Choose the most natural flavour of the tropical fruits from Huerta de Pancha, you won’t regret it!
