Characteristics of Picotas

At La Huerta de Pancha, we carefully select each fruit to make sure you get only the best. Unlike cherries, picotas are characterised by the fact that they detach from the stalk when ripe, which ensures a fresher fruit, full of flavour. Differences between Picotas and Cherries

Although at first glance they may appear similar, picks and cherries have significant differences:
– Peduncle detachment: Picotas naturally detach from the peduncle, while cherries retain it. I.e. It does not have a tail.
– Flavour and Texture: Picotas tend to have a more intense flavour and a firmer texture compared to cherries.
– Season: The season for picotas is shorter, generally from the end of June to the beginning of August, which makes them a much awaited and special fruit.
